How to Apply

Step 1: Review Admissions Requirements

Admission to the Graduate School is based on high probability of success in graduate work. Students' undergraduate and postgraduate academic records weigh heavily in this process. Minimum requirements for admission to the M.S. in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) program include:

  • Completion of the Capstone Certificate in Power Conversion and Control
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • An undergraduate major in a similar field, or equivalent evidence of a suitable background
  • An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale)

Step 2: Apply to the UW–Madison Graduate School

  1. Submit an online application to the UW–Madison Graduate School. Completed applications are due May 1 for admission for the following fall semester, and September 1 for admission for the following spring semester.
  2. Submit remaining application materials to the ECE Graduate Admissions Office:
